A Million Miles Out To Nowhere (from "A Slip Of The Tongue")
today I feel like there are so many things that I want to get done
but I have no energy to see these things through. I am standing at a million miles to nowhere. there are dreams and hopes that swirl in my brain and are then gone to the next moment, and I pace about this house, rubbing my chin and feeling the late day beard growing in. I stare out the windows in this house and I think about this album that I am recording or the bills that I have been putting off paying or my job or the next poem, a short story idea, or what I am going to eat for dinner. this life, it needs to slow down. everything feels rushed, and I just want to sit down and sip warm vodka and fuck my wife and listen to music in my studio. this is a long walk a million mile walk to some sort of sanity in me. and the days will come and come and I will walk, following these damned moments and searching for a better way.
